Minutes of managers’ meeting 5/7/2010

Northern Hotel, Brechin,7:30pm

Present: David Longmuir, Marshall Alexander, Alan Renilson, Dave Easton, Derek Mitchell, Tam Smith, Gordon Campbell, Doug Walker, Alastair Shaw.

Apologies: Jason Sawyer, Scott Ferries.

1. SYFA registration. Dave Longmuir to contact SYFA about log on details, but other managers have registered their teams.
2. Club insurance. Question of whether the club pays for insuring players, or if individual teams do this and then reclaim this as an expense from the club. Alastair Shaw to contact treasurer to see what has happened in previous years.
3. Reps for executive committee. Lucy Clarke has agreed to represent the girls’ team, managers of the boys’ teams still to put up any candidates.
4. Under 8s coaches. Doug Walker and Malcolm Hay to meet and discuss with David Longmuir about taking over coaching of the under8s. Both will need disclosure Scotland, and coaching courses (Doug has level 1). Dave Easton will cost the price of 30 kits (tops, shorts and socks) for this age group.
5. Inventory of equipment. All the coaches present outlined their requirements for this season. Kits to be passed down as agreed.
6. Training facilities. Dave Easton to liaise with leisure centre and arrange times for the various teams on the new Astroturf (younger teams will be indoors through the winter).
7. Playing pitches. Most likely the club will be using the High School pitches as per last season, though Alastair Shaw will contact the administrator dealing with Kelman Engineering about the fate of the ‘Matrix pitch’.
8. Next meeting. To be announced after the first Executive Committee meeting, to be held shortly.

PS: please can managers pay the SYFA registration fees and insurance together, then reclaim both expenses from the club.
